Lactobacillus acidophilus is a member of the Lactobacillus genus of bacteria. These bacteria can be found in the mouth, intestine, and vagina. L. acidophiluscolonizes most densely in the small intestines, where it helps maintain the intestinal wall healthy and supports overall digestive function.
